PFC Single-Phase AC/DC Boost Converters: Bridge, Semi-Bridgeless, and Bridgeless Topologies

Power Factor Correction (PFC) single-phase AC/DC converters are used in several power electronics applications as full wave control rectifiers improving quality and providing high standards of efficiency. Many papers dealing with the description or use such topologies have been published recent years; however, a review that describes organizes their specific details has not reported technical literature. Therefore, this paper presents an extensive PFC operating Boost converter topology for low medium voltage well appliances. A categorization bridge, semi-bridgeless, bridgeless, accordance construction characteristics, was carried out order to unify terminology. Benefits disadvantages described analyzed detail. Furthermore, comparison performance terms PFC, Total Harmonic Distortion (THD), capacity, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), number elements, efficiency is included.
